We are absolutely delighted to announce that Cornerstone Supported Housing and Counselling has joined us as a new charity partner.
As part of the new partnership, Cornerstone has committed to 11 bespoke, interactive clothes banks across the North East, creating new opportunities for local communities to recycle their unwanted clothing while supporting an organisation doing important work to tackle homelessness.
The new clothes banks are currently being installed across the region, and we’re incredibly excited to see what we can achieve together.
At Fundraise & Recycle, we’ve always believed that unwanted clothing can have value long after someone has finished wearing it.
By recycling through one of Cornerstone’s new clothes banks, members of the public can help keep unwanted textiles in circulation while simultaneously generating funds to support the charity’s work.
It’s a simple action that, when repeated across communities, can create a significant impact.
A wardrobe clear-out might only mean a bag or two of clothing to one household. Multiply that across hundreds or thousands of supporters, however, and those donations can become an ongoing source of fundraising.
There’s another exciting element to this partnership.
Cornerstone’s new clothes banks are designed to make the impact of recycling more visible to the people actually making it happen.
Each bank features a QR code that members of the public can scan to follow its progress.
This means supporters can see how their donations are contributing to the fundraising total and how much clothing has been diverted from waste.
Rather than simply dropping off a bag of clothes and walking away, we want people to feel connected to the results their donations are helping to achieve.
That transparency can also help Cornerstone bring its supporters together around a shared goal, celebrate milestones and encourage even more people to get involved.
We're particularly proud to see another North East organisation recognise the potential of sustainable fundraising.
The introduction of 11 locations means more people across the region will have convenient opportunities to recycle their unwanted clothes while supporting Cornerstone and its work tackling homelessness.
And the more clothing those communities recycle, the more funds the partnership has the potential to generate.
